Ah, summer
With the coming of Memorial Day marks the unofficial beginning of summer. If the date on the calendar weren’t enough, the local snowball stand opened this weekend. Today’s the first day back to school for the kids and sure enough, as we pass by they scream, I want snowball!!!!! How can you say no to that.
Also, please use the opportunity of the Memorial Day holiday to thank our veterans and support them. The Walter Reed Society and the USO are both great ways to help.
Find the monster
So when I was in college, someone would ask an instructor where they found their inspiration and, invariably, they would say “Their kids.” I would think, that’s great if I want to be a kid photographer, but I want to shoot food, how’s that going to help me? I’ve come to realize that I was thinking too literally. This is Bennett and Julia . Occasionally I’ll get a direct idea from them, but more than that is the drive I feel as I try to provide for us all. On those days that I start thinking how tough this job is (previous post notwithstanding) I just look at the kids and usually (after yelling at them to stop painting the dog) things seem better.
I love my job
I get an assignment from Urbanite Magazine to travel to Westminster Md and shoot farmer Allen in the field and come home with 6 or so pies to shoot in the studio. Oh, and buy some ice cream for the opener shot as well. OK! Really, how great is this job!
It’s downright hot outside

This week it’s been Glory Days Grill, Exclusively and Taste of the Bay so far. Jen’s also been very busy with her Bates and Klinke job for the Capitol visitor’s center
