Work has slowed

I can blame that on swine flu. I was taking care of a sick family last week. This week I had a cancelled shoot because everyone at the client’s manufacturing plant was out. In the meantime, here are some snapshots, 2 personal, 1 from a location scout…

Fisher Price Kid Tough is great

leave a comment »

My son turned 6 this weekend and his grandparents got him one of those fisher price cameras and he’s been blinding everyone in the house with the flash for the past 72 hours straight.  Since today’s a school holiday and Jen had a good deal of work to get through we went to the beach to run around and play and get out of her hair.  For those fans of the Diana, Lomo, Holga and countless other plastic lens cameras, please look into this cam.

Find the monster

So when I was in college, someone would ask an instructor where they found their inspiration and, invariably, they would say “Their kids.” I would think, that’s great if I want to be a kid photographer, but I want to shoot food, how’s that going to help me? I’ve come to realize that I was thinking too literally. This is Bennett and Julia . Occasionally I’ll get a direct idea from them, but more than that is the drive I feel as I try to provide for us all. On those days that I start thinking how tough this job is (previous post notwithstanding) I just look at the kids and usually (after yelling at them to stop painting the dog) things seem better.
